Description: This design-build project improved access for military tactical vehicles to San Onofre Beach for training exercises. The improvements included:
- Demolition of an existing timber trestle railroad bridge
- Construction of a new steel railroad bridge spanning 220-foot over Beach Club Road
- 50-foot wide tactical road at San Onofre Creek, including improvements to El Camino Real, a new beam and plate retaining wall along San Onofre Creek to increase the travel width and new 9” thick concrete pavement capable of supporting a 70-ton M1A1 tank with Amphibious Vehicle Launch Bridge.
