Joe Reyes Sr

CEO

Joe Reyes is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Reyes Construction, Inc. His passion for construction began during his formative years while attending Don Bosco Technical Institute (the “Tech”). It was at the Tech that he completed a 5-year program comprised of a rigorous college-prep curriculum that uniquely integrated academics and technology. Joe graduated from the Tech in 1979 with an Associates of Science in Building Technology.

After graduation, Joe worked for several heavy civil contractors including Robert B. Longway Inc., and Valverde Construction, Inc. as a laborer, carpenter, estimator, and superintendent. It was through these experiences – both field and office – that Joe developed the confidence to branch out on his own. In 1987, Joe founded Reyes Construction, Inc.

In its early years, Reyes Construction, Inc. primarily operated as a subcontractor building flood control and sewer structures for general contractors. Joe fondly recalls his very first subcontract with Chadwick & Buchanan, Inc. As the scope of Reyes’ work and expertise diversified, Joe began to seek out opportunities to operate as a General Contractor. The first of these opportunities occurred in 1994 when Reyes Construction, Inc. worked as a joint venture partner with Security Paving, Inc. to provide emergency repair work in response to the Northridge earthquake. In 1997, Reyes began building projects for the Federal Government and other public works agencies such as the Port of Los Angeles, and City of Los Angeles.

Under Joe’s guidance, Reyes Construction, Inc. has continued to grow in the Federal and public works markets and is now widely regarded as one of the best heavy civil general contractors in Southern California. Joe continues to serve as an advisor to the business and can often be found at a Reyes jobsite supporting and encouraging the employees of Reyes Construction, Inc.
